I was looking for a quick and easy DIY Christmas project around my house today and came up with this. It’s so easy and only takes 10 minutes. Easy is the name of the game around here lately. Apparently, I like to make things as complicated as possible sometimes, and it’s maddening sometimes.
The best part is that you can cover your entire house with these garlands and it will only set you back a few bucks. This would be a great craft for kids and a perfect decoration for their rooms!
I’m a fan of gold, so I used some gift tags I had from last year at IKEA (the nutcracker) and the gold wood grain and Merry and Bright tags I found at Target, 8 tags for $3.00. They work for any winter holiday–these would carry right on into a New Year’s party! Just sayin.’
Materials
- Gift tags (these are from Target; the animals/nutcracker are from IKEA’s 2014 holiday collection)
- Baker’s twine
- Scissors
Remove ribbon from tags if necessary. Then string away! Consider alternating tags or colors to create something that matches your décor.
Think of all of the cute tags at Target or Home Goods that you could use to make something like this. And how cute would it be to wrap around a gift? SCORE.
Look for wrapping tips and tricks to come later this week (and see them all on the It’s a Wrap, Yo! page). Thanks for reading! I hope you are having a lovely and festive week! xo
