But I’m keeping today’s project simple. Painting is one of my favorite ways to decorate them–and it’s a wonderful alternative to carving. I love white pumpkins (who doesn’t?), and I decided to go for a glam black and white theme. These pumpkins are pretty and sophisticated—I think they would look great as a table centerpiece! I styled a few with napkins from Target and they’re definitely on trend!
Materials
- Pumpkins, real or fake
- Acrylic paint in various colors–I love Martha Stewart
- Paintbrush
- Glitter
- Mod Podge
Basic Idea & Tips
- If using real pumpkins, wash them and remove any dirt and other scuffs. Let dry.
- Paint away!
- You may have to apply several coats to get a good finish.
- Try chalk paint for a pretty matte finish (I used satin finish for these).
- If glittering, paint a layer of Mod Podge on the desired area and then cover with glitter. If painting and glittering, be sure to wait until the paint is COMPLETELY dry. If not, glitter will stick to the painted area–not cool.
Uh, that was crazy easy, right?? Yeah, girl. The possibilities are endless, really. Have fun!! And stay tuned for more pumpkin projects next week! Have a lovely weekend!
