It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yay! I’ve been busy in the workshop making lots of gifts and haven’t put my tree up, didn’t buy an advent calendar in time (a holiday staple for me), haven’t started my holiday shopping, and I only just ordered my holiday cards. I’m really looking forward to this weekend and I’m going to smush it together and get it all done!! That’s my exhausted but positive brain talking. We’ll see what actually happens.

I’m thinking about simplicity this season. Easy and pretty. Simple and elegant. Quick and affordable–you’ll know this if you saw my last tutorial for 5-minute place cards. For this project, I searched for pieces that would look great for a several and didn’t take a lot of elbow grease. I’ve had a color palette running around in my head that is copper with pops of other metallics and white, so I ran with it. And the best part is that I found a lot of my items at the Dollar Spot at Target!
For the past year and a half, I’ve been making my own business cards. And because I love paper–the thicker the better–that meant I was gluing three layers together on top of printing and cutting! It was madness, even though I love the way they turned out.
But the time has come to outsource them because they’re just too time consuming. I wanted a new design to take with me to a conference called Paper Camp. I looked around and ended up ordering the Luxe cards by MOO and they’re fantastic! The weight and thickness of the paper is weighty and instantly noticeable. Plus, they have a black seam that runs along the middle of the card. Moo offers a range of seam colors to choose from. I took advantage of Printfinity, which allows you to customize the back side with up to 50 different designs! I used six different patterns for mine. Priceless, the cards are a bit of investment. But I think they’re worth it, especially for a first impression and perfect for networking and conferences.

This project is inspired by the cutest magnetic mini succulent planters from Growing Home. If you know me or follow me on Instagram, you know I’m adore all things cactus and succulents! I saw them and immediately knew they would make adorable place cards and fun favors to take home, too. So clever and adorable.
