Seattle Goodwill SPEED.I.Y Campaign: Garden Projects!
I’ve had a thing for planters this summer (see here and here for evidence). And the plants I have are actually still alive (!!!), which is amazing and fueling my plant love. This planter project is a fun one and you can’t mess it up. You can’t. I swear.
DIY Painted Mason Jar Herb Garden
This is the first of five projects featured in the Seattle Goodwill SPEED.I.Y ad campaign. I had 5 minutes to run through the store and find as many items as possible to repurpose into fun DIY summer projects for gardening. Who can’t use an herb garden?! And it’s so easy to make! Really, all you need are some mason jars and herbs and you’re on your way! I wanted something colorful that I’m excited to use every time I see them in their little spot by the window, so I added a little acrylic paint to the equation. I decided a tray would be helpful too so I can carry them all to the sink or to the kitchen counter to cut herbs I need for dinner. And brunch. And lunch. 😉 And dessert (because I couldn’t pass up lavender!).
DIY Summer Projects with Seattle Goodwill: SPEEDIY!
Summer is here!! Yay! And that means I’m DIY-ing like crazy to get ready for the beautiful weather and spend as much time outside as possible. I have more projects lined up than I know what to do with, which means my apartment has been a craftaster lately (that’s a word, I know it)! I’m always on the lookout for projects that are fun and modern (and budget-friendly), and one of my favorite places to get ideas and look for supplies is Seattle Goodwill! My apartment is full of repurposed items from Goodwill and I’m a regular at the Ballard location–it’s my go-to spot for furniture, vintage dishes, books, linens, and clothes. So, naturally I was excited when they asked me to work with them to create a few ads that focus on easy DIY summer projects with thrifted items!!
I had 5 minutes to find as many items as I could to repurpose into summer garden and party projects for SPEED.I.Y–sort of like Supermarket Sweeps, thrifty style! I created five projects and the items I found are all things you can quickly find at Goodwill, so you can get in, get out, and enjoy your summer!
