SAGUARO NATIONAL PARK
The saguaro cactus is the largest in the United States and only found in a small area. The Saguaro National Park houses acres and acres of these giants that can grow to 60 feet tall and live to be 150-200 years old. Seeing rolling hills with forests of crazy cacti made me feel like I was on an alien planet.
B&B CACTUS FARM
If a cactus national park isn’t heaven, then the B&B Cactus Farm is! It’s a cactus nursery near Tucson that has two acres of cacti and succulents!
PIMA AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM
The Pima Air & Space Museum, is one of the world’s largest non-government funded aerospace museums. And it’s HUGE. We only made a small dent during our afternoon there. They have some amazing planes and lots of cool factoids–including a section dedicated to women in the air, and even the plane that’s in Top Gun.
Want more ideas? Try the annual Tucson Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Show in late January that people rave about. And the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is part-zoo, part habitat exhibit with lots of animals and plants you’ve never seen before!
