This is the second monthly installment of projects created using the Paper Source Wrapping Paper Calendar. See lots of gift wrapping tips and ideas here and my Gift Wrap Pinterest board for more inspiration!
I LOVE the September wrapping paper sheet from the Paper Source calendar. So even though it’s fall, I was excited to see the floral design–which is perfect for decoupage! There was enough paper to wrap a small package and cut out plenty of flowers for decoupage. You could create an overall pattern on large gifts or create a gift topper like I did.
Materials
- September wrapping sheet from the Paper Source Wrapping Paper Calendar
- Scissors
- Ribbon, I found mine here
- 3D glue dots, double-sided tape or glue stick
Basic Idea
Cut out flower shapes. It’s ok if they’re not perfect and you have pieces that overlap onto the flower. You can layer them on your package so you don’t see that area.
Start with a solid base of paper so your flowers pop. I wrapped my item in white paper. Play around with the shapes and find a design you like. Layer them or space them evenly on large packages. Use the glue dots to adhere the flowers to the package and to each other to make sure they’re attached and sturdy.
The 3D glue dots give it a bit more depth than flat tape which adds a nice detail.
Mission accomplished! Check back soon for the October wrapping DIY!
